Police claim arrest of four gangsters

OKARA, Dec 5: Police claimed to have busted a four-man gang and recovered illicit weapons and Rs90,000 received as ransom from the family of a kidnapped man. DPO Malik Tahir Mahmood along with DSPs Syed Nazir Husain Shah, Mian Abrar Khalil and Amanulllah Bajwa told journalists on Monday that on Nov 9, four gunmen kidnapped one Fateh Din near Basirpur and demanded Rs2 million ransom from his family.

Basirpur police station SHO managed release of the abductee for Rs200,000. Later, he secretly followed the outlaws and succeeded to arrest Rehmatullah alias Tulli from a garment factory at Lahore on Sunday, they added.

Police arrested his co-accused Amanat Ali alias Toti, Yaqoob alias Fauji and Ashraf alias Baggi on the information provided by him.

Police also recovered Rs90,000 in cash, two pump action, one 244 bore rifle, one 8mm rifle and four stolen motorcycles from their possession.

The DPO said Tulli was also wanted in three murder cases registered by Hujra Shah Muqeem police.
