KARACHI: Nestle Pakistan Ltd announced on Thursday its bottom line for the January-March quarter grew 38.73 per cent to Rs4.45 billion on a year-on-year basis.

A stock market filing showed the company recorded revenue of Rs37.78bn in the three-month period, up 16.8pc from a year ago. The company didn’t announce any dividend.

Its share was one of the top losers in rupee terms on the stock exchange. It dropped Rs99 or 1.8pc to Rs5,501 apiece on Thursday.

Uptick in Engro Corp profit

Consolidated profit of Engro Corporation Ltd for the first quarter of 2022 amounted to Rs14.89bn, up 0.8pc from a year ago. The company said in a regulatory filing its top line expanded almost one-quarter to Rs83.33bn in the three-month period. The company announced a dividend of Rs12 per share.

Pakistan Refinery earns Rs5.5bn

Net profit of Pakistan Refinery Ltd clocked in at Rs5.53bn for the January-March quarter, up 10.3 times from the year-ago period. It didn’t announce any cash dividend.

Nine-month earnings of the refinery totalled Rs5.4bn, up 8.7 times from the same nine months of the preceding fiscal year.

ARL returns to profit

Attock Refinery Ltd posted a net unconsolidated profit of Rs2.1bn in January-March versus a net loss of Rs219 million recorded in the same quarter a year ago.

The company said in its corporate results released on the stock exchange website that its nine-month profit clocked in at Rs3.78bn against a net loss of Rs1bn in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal year.

It didn’t declare any payout.

National Refinery income plunges

National Refinery Ltd posted an annual decline of 34.5pc in its net income, which amounted to Rs1.12bn in January-March.

The top line of the company grew 9.5pc year-on-year in the quarter under review. However, a massive rise of over Rs1.5bn in finance cost dented the company’s bottom line.

There was no announcement of a dividend.

Shell profit surge 40pc

Shell Pakistan Ltd posted a profit-after-tax of Rs2.08bn for January-March, up 6.72pc from a year ago, the company said in a stock filing on Thursday.

Its top line grew almost 40pc year-on-year to Rs84.4bn in the same period. The oil marketing company didn’t announce any dividend.

Amreli’s income rises

Amreli Steels Ltd told investors on Thursday its quarterly earnings amounted to Rs530.5m in the first three months of 2022, up 5.5pc from a year ago.

Its sales jumped 62.8pc year-on-year in the January-March quarter, a stock notice showed. The company didn’t announce any payout.
