KARACHI: The Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, has celebrated legendary comedian Umer Sharif’s 62nd birthday in its Jaun Elia lawn. Prayers were also held for the late artist, who passed away last year on Oct 2.
Speaking on the occasion, Arts Council president Ahmed Shah said he had a four-decade-long association with Mr Sharif. He claimed that the artist before leaving this mortal world gave him the responsibility of looking after his son.
He added that the comedian’s fans and admirers all over the world cried when he left them.
