SIALKOT, Dec 4: A large number of Sikhs from the UK, Germany and India on Sunday visited the samaadhi of Baba Guru Nanak and other scared places in Kartarpura-Narowal amid tight security.

Scores of Sikhs also visited their native houses and other scared places in Sialkot, Daska, Zafarwal, Shakargarh and surrounding areas.

They refreshed their pre-partition memories and distributed sweets and gifts among their old friends.

Talking to reporters, Sikh leaders, including Sardar Pratab Singh, Dil Jeet Singh, Manmohan Singh, Sardar Joginder Singh, Samman Kaur, Balwant Kaur and Sundar Kaur, expressed their grieve over the killing of thousands of people in earthquake.

STOLEN: Thieves took away the water filtration plant machinery from Fatehgarh-Hajipura locality here late on Saturday night.

Residents have to face problems because the supply of potable water remained suspended for the whole day.

The former district government had installed the water filtration plant some one-and-a-half-years back with an expenditure of Rs350,000.

Hajipura police are going into the matter.
