KARACHI: Hundreds of employees of different commercial banks on Friday protested on main I.I. Chundrigar Road against the federal government’s recent decision of ending Saturday holiday.

Carrying banners inscribed with slogans in support of restoration of Saturday as a holiday, around 300-400 bank staffers and employees protested outside the State Bank of Pakistan building, said Mithadar SHO Malik Adil Khan.

The protesters said that ending of Saturday holiday was adversely affecting their domestic and family life.

The police officer said that the protesters were told that it was not the domain of the central bank to restore holiday.
