Rescue station launched in Gujrat’s small town

GUJRAT: The Rescue 1122 has launched a community rescue station in Karianwala, a small town of Gujrat.

The project has been completed on public-private partnership mode as building of the rescue station and an emergency vehicle have been provided by the local community on the motivation of PML-Q MNA Hussain Elahi, said an official of the district administration.

However, he said the trained staff for the rescue operations had been deputed by the Rescue 1122 to conduct rescue operations in the area.

Regional emergency officer of Gujranwala Syed Kamal Abid and district emergency officer (Gujrat) Umar Akbar briefed the participants of the opening ceremony about the rescue services.

At least five new Rescue 1122 centres are currently under construction in various towns of Gujrat district, including Kathala old GT Road, Jalalpur Jattan, Lalamusa, Dinga and Mungowal.
