KARACHI, Dec 4: A seven-member delegation of disabled persons called on Sindh Chief Minister’s Secretary Sikander Ali Kirio and Special Secretary Dr Muhammad Ali to apprise them of their problems, said a statement on Saturday.

The delegation comprised Jaffar Hussain, Mubeen Nizamani and Javed Raees.

They apprised the secretaries about problems including the issue of driving licenses for the dumb and installation of special vibrators and proper lighting for them.

They also asked the CM’s secretaries for creation of jobs for the disabled in the private sector and two per cent quota in jobs in district government departments.

They also asked for releasing Zakat for the disabled by the Zakat Department, allocation of special quota in new residential projects, quota in the federal and provincial assemblies and free-of-cost travel facilities.

It was decided in the meeting that two members of the Association of Disabled would hold a meeting with the Zakat Department on Dec 6.—APP
