KOHAT: The Orakzai district administration has launched a mobile utility store service to provide the tribesmen living in far-off areas with food items at subsidised rates.

A statement issued from the deputy commissioner’s office on Friday said the Orakzai and Thall Scouts and Utility Store Corporation officials would accompany the trucks provided by the district administration and the police to remote areas of the district.

The first consignment of trucks loaded with edibles was delivered to tribesmen in Kalaya, the district headquarters, and its surrounding areas.

The statement said the revenue department officials had been directed to inform the tribesmen a day ahead of the arrival of trucks so they could be provided items at discounted rates.

The deputy commissioner thanked the provincial chief of the corporation, Mehtab Banoori, and the commandants of Orakzai and Thall Scouts for their assistance in providing relief to the poor tribesmen.
