TOBA TEK SINGH: A man killed his first wife and sister of his second wife at Chak 273-GB, Jaranwala tehsil on Friday.

According to Rodala police, Naeem Noor Kharal shot dead his first wife Kanwal Bibi (33) and his second wife’s sister Swera Riaz (18), when they were asleep, allegedly over a domestic dispute.

The suspect fled away after killing the two women.

The police added that deceased Swera was staying at the house of the suspect as a guest.

Raids were being conducting to arrest the suspect, the police claimed.

GUTTED: Three rooms at Gojra’s patwarkhana (land record office) were gutted when a fire broke out there under mysterious circumstances late on Thursday night.

On being informed of the fire, Rescue 1122 firefighters reached the spot and extinguished the fire.

Sources said that land record of more than a dozen villages of Gojra tehsil kept in the offices of three patwaris was reduced to ashes in the blaze.

An inquiry had been ordered by Gojra assistant commissioner into the incident.

PASSES AWAY: Widow of former attorney general of Pakistan late Farooq Ramday died on Friday at Kamalia after a protracted illness.

She was the mother of Habib Bank Limited president Muhammad Aurangzeb and former advocate general of Punjab late Raza Farooq, mother-in-law of former PML-N senator and MNA Ms Ayesha Raza, sister-in-law of Supreme Court’s former judge Justice Khalil Ramday.

She was laid to rest in a graveyard in Lahore.
