Asim, Shahzad lift doubles’ title

ISLAMABAD, Dec 3: Asim Shafik and Shahzad Khan clinched the men’s doubles title of the 22nd Federal Cup tennis beating Aqeel Khan-Jalil Khan 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 at Islamabad Club clay courts on Saturday.

Sarah Mahboob won the ladies singles title beating Nida Rahim in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

Top seed Aqeel Khan and second seed Asim Shafik will clash in the men’s singles final at 2:30 pm on Sunday.

Men’s doubles: Asim Shafik-Shahzad Khan bt Aqeel Khan-Jalil Khan 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Ladies singles: Sarah Mahboob bt Nida Rahim 6-2, 6-2.

Girls U-17 singles semifinal: Sara Mansoor bt Anoosha Aslam 6-4, 6-3.

Boy’s U-17 singles final: Tanveer Ashiq bt Omer Babar 6-2, 7-5.—APP
