ENCROACHMENTS: The Balochistan government has decided to take strict action against encroachments on its land.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Balochistan Board of Revenue, presided over by Chief Secretary K. B Rind.

Senior board member Marjan Khan briefed the meeting on the performance of the department.

The participants observed thousands of acres of government land in many parts of the province had been illegally occupied.

The meeting decided not to allow encroachments and the chief secretary directed the authorities concerned to take action against the encroachers.

“Practical steps should be taken for evicting the illegal occupants,” Mr Rind said, adding that the departments concerned should evolve a comprehensive policy in this regard.

He appreciated the performance of the board, saying that the department was playing an important role in collecting government revenue.

Referring to the route permit issue, he said the Provincial Transport Authority should decide route permits cases on merit.
