MOHMAND: A policeman was injured when unidentified gunmen attacked a checkpost in Shrab Kor area of the Safi tehsil here on Tuesday.

Mohmand district police officer Salahuddin Kundi said that some unknown miscreants opened indiscriminate fire on Shrab Kor police checkpost from a nearby graveyard.

He said that a policeman, namely Javed Khan, was injured in the firing. He added that the injured policeman was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Ghalanai, for treatment.

Mr Kundi said that FC and police personnel retaliated and repulsed the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
