SUKKUR: Activists of All Parties Movement set up a camp at Clock Tower in the middle of Kandhkot town on Monday to kick off a campaign for creating awareness against tribal feuds raging in the area, which had claimed many precious lives.
Members of social, political and religious parties gathered at the camp to express their support to the call for end to tribal feuds in Kandhkot-Kashmore district.
Talking to media persons, the movement’s convener Abdul Ghani Bijarani and others said that tribal feuds had become a cancer to the fabric of society in Sindh.
They said that they had launched the drive to awaken sardars, waderas, police officials and political leaders to the brutality and instability caused by feuds that mostly flared up on trivial issues or misunderstanding among people belonging to different communities.
“Instead of helping establish truce between rival parties, sardars, waderas and police officials take advantage of the simmering enmities and clashes and fan them (to their advantage),” he said.
People were suffering physically, mentally and financially as the feuds caused loss of life and damage to properties, and they wanted to see an end to bloodshed in their surroundings that was why they had joined the camp, he said.
The organisers of the event appealed to residents of Kandhkot to join them so that they together they could prevent tribal feuds and save precious lives.
