DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Taunsa administration has foiled an attempt to smuggle wheat and flour to Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

Assistant Commissioner Asad Chandia, on a tip-off, carried out an operation at Triman check post on the Punjab-KP border and seized 11,200 bags of wheat and flour laden on 10 trucks.

Drivers could not produce permission documents of shifting wheat and flour bags to KP.

The administration seized a huge consignment of wheat and flour and registered a case against drivers besides the impounding of vehicles.

Dera Ghazi Khan Deputy Commissioner Hamza Malik told Dawn that there was a ban on shifting wheat and flour to other provinces and the government was strictly implementing the policy.
