PESHAWAR, Dec 2: NWFP Minister for Science, Technology and IT Hussain Ahmad Kanju on Friday directed authorities to initiate a summary for bringing the service of fixed pay employees of the IT department from PC-I to SNE within one week.

He issued the directive while reviewing pace of work on various ongoing, new and proposed projects of the department.

The minister directed that arrangements should be made for early posting of the three-year performance of the provincial government on official website of the STIT department.

He asked the secretary of IT department to prepare in advance a funds utilization strategy for the next annual development plan so that “funds do not lapse”.

Mr Kanju also directed making the appointment criteria more transparent to ensure merit.

Secretary Muhammad Umar Afridi informed the meeting that the department’s website was being updated on a daily basis while an official had been deputed to collect data of different provincial departments.

He said that data of major departments was uploaded on the website and could be viewed on www.nwfp.gov.com —APP
