HYDERABAD, Dec 2: The award distribution ceremony of the Hyderabad Public School was held on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jameel said that teachers, parents and students should work together to raise the standard of education.

He said that it was not only the responsibility of the government but also of teachers and parents to bring about positive changes.

He said it was necessary to discover talented leadership and expertise required for the development of the country.

The nazim said that equal educational opportunities to male and female students were essential to raise the literacy rate in the society.

He said that the Hyderabad Public School was one of the best institutions of Pakistan like the Cadet College in Petaro and the Lawrence College.

Mr Jameel said the school has maintained its reputation at a time when the private sector was competing in the educational field.

He made it clear that more efforts were needed to raise the standard of education to meet the challenges in future.

The nazim said the world has become a global village which has increased competition among the nations.

He said the district government was giving top priority to education considering it as a foundation of development.

Mr Jameel asked the public and private sectors to ensure quality education to all.

He said that the district government has launched various programmes for teachers.

The nazim said the government was providing facilities to neglected schools and patronizing talented students not only to accelerate educational activities in the district but also to restore the confidence of the people in the public schools.

He said that the district government would provide all possible help for the development of public schools and creating healthy atmosphere for the students.

Mr Jameel said the teachers should come up to the expectations of people and parents.

Earlier, the principal of the school, Mazhar Taufail Shah, in his welcome address said that the school’s result was 100 per cent in the current SSC examinations due to hard work of the academic staff.

Later, the nazim, who is also the chairman of the governing board of the public school, distributed prizes among the students for showing good performance in the examinations.
