KARACHI, Dec 1: Seven ships carrying cars and fertilizer and loading cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where six ships, Lykes Racer, Eagle Express, Y.M. Sun and Hyundai Highway, to unload and load containers, Al-Fatumi, to offload and load general cargo, and Al-Marwah, to unload chemicals, were berthed.

Five ships — AP Jeddah, PONL Beunos Aires, Zara-3, Swat and Chem Lily — departed, while Lykes Racer, APL Orchid, Y.M. Sun, Al-Marwah, Eax Sanctity and Eagle Express are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly brisk where a total tonnage of 0.109m tons comprising 20,314 tons of export cargo and 88,901 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Sagamore, Eastern Sea, with containers, D.D. Vigor, Jian Qiang, with 32,926 tons of DAP fertilizer and 38,500 tons of urea, Ducky Soverel GN, with cars, Rouba, to load 2,800 tons of cement, and Xiang Ruimen, with 8,000 tons of steel.
