RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police (CTO) have devised a traffic plan to facilitate citizens during rehearsals for the Pakistan Day parade to be held on March 16, 18 and 20.

A police spokesman said over 300 personnel would be deployed on diversion and alternative routes.

He said traffic from Faizabad towards Rawalpindi and Islamabad will remain suspended from morning till the end of the rehearsal on Wednesday (March 16).

During the rehearsal, traffic from Murree Road towards Islamabad will move via Sixth Road, Saidpur Road and Double Road towards 9th Avenue.

Traffic from Koral Chowk on Islamabad Expressway will be allowed from Khanna Bridge, Lehtrar Road, Tramri Chowk and Khanna Bridge Service Road to move to Chowki No 8, Band Khanna Road (Sadiqabad) via Rawal Road.

Traffic towards 9th Avenue will be diverted from Stadium Road via C-Block, Murree Road while traffic coming from 9th Avenue towards Rawalpindi will be diverted to I.J. Principal Road where it will enter Rawalpindi from New Katarian and the Carriage Factory signal.

The entry of heavy traffic in Rawalpindi will be closed from 3am till 3pm.
