KASUR: Former wife turned out to be the killer of a man whose body was recovered a few days ago, police claimed on Sunday.

The body with disfigured and bundled into a suitcase dropped at Vadana bus stand on Ferozepur Road. The suspect told police that she had killed her former husband to exact revenge of the physical torture to which she was subjected.

Police said they recovered the body at the bus stop and shifted it to the DHQ hospital morgue.

The law enforcers, they said, traced the culprit with the help of safe city cameras and other investigation tools. Police claimed that the body was identified as that of Muhammad Rashid who belonged to Vehari and had been living at Kahna to earn his livelihood. Investigation revealed that the deceased had divorced Sajida Bibi who strangled Rashid after giving him intoxicated food.

Police arrested the woman in Kahna.
