CHINIOT: Lalian bar member Babur Mehmood Basra was found shot dead on Sunday in his car.

According to his brother, lawyer Hafeez Haider, he was informed by someone that his brother was found murdered last night in his car near Chenab Nagar town.

He rushed to the spot and found the car was parked along Sargodha Road, and its headlights were on. On his call, the police also rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the hospital for an autopsy. The Chenab Nagar police have registered a case under sections 302 and 34 of the PPC against gunmen.

Faisalabad RPO Imran Mehmood also took notice of the incident and supervised the collection of evidence, and geo-fencing and made a special team under Lalian SDPO Aziz Ahmad to trace and arrest the culprits.

Hafeez said they have no enmity with anyone and demanded that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar ensure the safety of lawyers. Chiniot Bar president Mehr Mazhar Haral also condemned the incident and announced a complete strike in all tehsils on Monday.

Punjab Bar Council Vice-Chairman Syed Jafar Tiyar condemned the incident, saying that the incident proved that law enforcement agencies had failed to protect the life and property of lawyers.

KILLED: Imran Ahmad, 24, of Naseerabad, was beaten to death by his neighbour Bashir and his family members.

The police said Imran was hit by rods, punches and kicks. He was shifted to a hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries. The Chenab Nagar police registered a case.

DIE: Two people died in car-bus collusion near Raja Morr, Bhowana.

Tariq and Nighat Bibi, both car passengers died while another passenger Khaqan Babar was injured.

They were the residents of the Jhang area. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the hospital.
