Tenders for hydel power project

LAHORE, Nov 30: Tenders for the construction of Neelum-Jhelum hydropower project were opened at the Wapda House here on Wednesday. Representatives of firms bidding for the project were present on the occasion.

The bidders included M/s China International Water and Electric Corporation, China and M/s Cina Gezhouba Water and Power Corporation Co Ltd, JV China.

Both the bidders have submitted letter of financial commitment.

The project is being constructed on Neelum river near Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir. The project will be completed in eight years at a cost of $1.4 billion and will generate 969MW electricity.
