ISLAMABAD: As part of women’s week, the regional head office (RHO) of National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) in the federal capital has taken special steps to facilitate women applicants.

An official told Dawn that mobile registration vans had been deployed in female educational institutions throughout the region covering Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and parts of Punjab from Rawalpindi to Jhelum.

Hr said 50pc counters had also been fixed at all national registration centres (NRCs) and NSCs for processing applications submitted by women.

Well-trained female staff has been deputed at women-only counters who are presenting bouquets to female applicants visiting the NRCs.

Special seminars are being arranged at schools and colleges to motivate females for registration which is the key documentation for their identity and recognition in society.

“RHO Islamabad is striving to facilitate all applicants in general and women in particular through our well-trained female staff,” the official said, adding that, “we hope this effort will become a catalyst of change in society as per the vision of the worthy Nadra chairman”.

The decision to observe women’s week was announced by Nadra Chairman Tariq Malik on the eve of International Women’s Day celebrated each year on March 8.

The week-long celebrations will continue till March 14.
