KARACHI: The owner of Nasla Tower, Abdul Qadir, passed away on Monday evening, his lawyer said.

Advocate Abdul Majeed Khoso told Dawn that the owner’s brother Ghaffar Katliya informed him that Mr Qadir died in the evening.

He was currently on bail in two cases registered against him by the police and the Anti-Corruption Establishment for illegally constructing the 15-storey building on Sharea Faisal.

Mr Qadir along with the former and current directors general of the Sindh Building Control Authority and office-bearers of the Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society was booked for illegally constructing the project by occupying 341 sq-yds of a service lane.
