DERA GHAZI KHAN: A condolence reference was held in Taunsa on Monday to pay homage to Irshad Taunsvi, pioneer of introducing new trends in Seraiki poetry and prose works, and late Seraiki intellectual and progressive political ideologue Ustad Mahmood Nizami.

The congregation was held at Jhoke Sanjoke adjacent to the bank of mighty Sanghar hill torrent peripheral area of ancient Mondari village.

A large number of admirers of the two late Seraiki icons of literature and politics took part in the reference.

Speakers said Ostad Nizami was a bold political analyst and honest political worker, who spent his whole life preaching progressive democratic values.

He played a vital role to keep the Seraiki nationalists from chauvinism. Ostad Nizami had the ability to see the future political scenario by translating the prevailing present political situation.

Speakers called Irshad Taunsvi a great craftsman of Seraiki poetry and prose.

He had the skills to translate the language of nature into human language.

It was a fact that birds trusted him so much that they used to perch on his hands fearlessly.

Speakers included Dr Ehsan Wahga, Dr Najeeb Malghani, Zulfiqar Saeen, Saeed Buzdar, Sarmad Sulaiman, Bilawal, Chacha Chonari, Qazi Naèem, Hamad Taunsvi, Jaisal Taunsvi, Dr Mazhar Jaskani, Farooq Mehrum, and Zafar Saeen.
