QUETTA: A man gunned down his niece in the name of honour in the Sariab area on the outskirts of provincial capital on Saturday, police said.

The suspect, who was identified as Jahangeer Khan, escaped after committing the crime. However, he was later taken into custody along with the weapon used in the crime, said a police official.

Police took the body to civil hospital.

“It was a case of honour killing,” the officer said.

No more details about the incident were immediately available.
