LAHORE: An additional district and sessions court in Multan on Friday awarded life imprisonment to two men for gang-raping a 10-year-old girl in the Jalilabad area.

A case was registered against Anas and Muzzamil for raping the minor girl in the Grass Mandi area.

Jalilabad police had arrested both the suspects, completed the investigation and submitted evidence before the court.

The court sentenced Anas to life term on two counts and Muzzamil on one count.

In a double murder case, a man was sentenced to death for killing his wife and minor daughter in the name of honour.

Ghulam Sarwar was arrested by police for killing his wife, Rania, and two-year-old daughter on March 19, 2020. The woman and her daughter were found dead in a tube well in the area of the Alpa Police Station.

The police had registered the case on the complaint of Rania’s father and arrested Sarwar who confessed to killing his wife and the daughter.

An additional district and sessions judge announced the verdict after finding the accused guilty of the double murder.

In the third case, an additional district and sessions court sentenced a man to life imprisonment for trying to smuggle 45kg drugs.

Ashraf Abid was arrested by Basti Malook police from the Shujabad Road while carrying 45kg hashish.
