ISLAMABAD: Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz has welcomed the District and Sessions Court decision in Noor Mukadam case.

In a statement, he said the decision reflects the numerous recommendations of the council.

“Emphasis has been placed on ensuring speedy delivery of justice through continuous hearing of cases,” Dr Ayaz said.

He said after a series of hearings, the case was decided in just four months, which was an extraordinary event in our judicial history, so it has been rightly appreciated by all sections of the society.

“The CII also looks at it with admiration,” he added.

On several occasions the CII has expressed the view that there are laws in Pakistan but laws and punishments need to be enforced.

Dr Qibla Ayaz said the role of Islamabad police was encouraging and commendable for the speedy completion of the investigation process by the police, putting aside all kinds of pressure in the case.

He also expressed the hope that the judiciary would continue to provide speedy justice in all cases, especially murder and sexual assault cases.

The CII chairman also welcomed the steps taken by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Justice Umar Ata Bandial to expedite the disposal of cases and said that it was hoped that this process would pave the way for speedy delivery of justice.
