ISLAMABAD, Nov 28: As many as 22 qualifying matches were decided on the first day of the Federal Cup tennis tournament at the Islamabad Club.

Results:

Men’s singles qualifying (first round): Raja Taimur Nadeem bt M. Waqas Shabbir 4-0, 4-0. Pervaiz Khan bt Taimur Khan 4-0, 4-1. Usman Ijaz bt S. Abbas Raza 5-3, 4-1. Shahzad bt Imran Maqbool 4-0, 4-1. Second round: Muteeb Pasha bt Usma Waheed 4-1, 4-0. Saeedul Haq bt Malik A. Rehman 4-1, 4-2. Abid Ali w/o Faisal Mir, Noumanul Haq bt Raja Taimur Nadeem 4-1, 4-0. M. Azeem Khan bt Talha Waheed 4-0, 4-1. Heera Ashiq w/o Faheem Siddiqui, Pervaiz Khan bt Usman Ijaz 5-3, 4-2. Shahzad w/o Waheed Anwar.

Boys U-17 singles qualifying: Jibranul Haq bt Umair Tajamul 4-0, 4-0. Ahmed Abdullah Khan w/o Ahmed Babar, Haider Ali w/o Osama Waheed, Malik Abdul Rehman w/o Usma Aitzaz. Saad bib Rehman bt Haris Ashraf 4-0, 4-0. Imran Maqbool bt Atif 4-0, 4-2. Asif Raja bt Zahid Ajum 4-0, 4-1.
