TOBA TEK SINGH: A teenage boy was killed and another injured in firing at a wedding ceremony at Faisalabad’s Chak Chota Rasoolpura on Friday.
Rescue 1122 reported that Hanan Arif, 17, and Rehman Razzaq, 15, were injured in firing at a wedding ceremony near Khurrianlwala. A team shifted the injured to the Allied Hospital where Razzaq succumbed to the injuries.
The Faisalabad police have failed to prevent firing at wedding ceremonies despite order by the IGP to take strict action against the violators.
MEETING: A bird hazard control committee meeting was held at Shorkot Rafiqui Airbase on Friday.
Base commander Air Commodore Aurangzeb Ahmad chaired the meeting which was also attended by police and administration officials from Toba Tek Singh, Jhang and Khanewal districts.
Flight safety officer squadron leader Syed Jawad Khalid said birds which collide with fighter airplanes caused great loss to them and jeopardise lives of pilots. He urged the participants to raise awareness in their respective districts, especially in areas of flying zone of Rafiqui Airbase, so that citizens could keep the atmosphere clean.
