Pakistan has reported 2,662 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, down from 3,206 a day earlier.

In the last 24 hours, 29 more people succumbed to the virus compared to 41 yesterday. The national positivity rate stands at 5.6 per cent.

The total caseload is now 1,486,361 while the death toll is 29,801.

The nationwide breakdown is as follows:

  • Sindh: 994 cases, 2 deaths
  • Punjab: 459 cases, 8 deaths
  • KP: 968 cases, 17 deaths
  • Balochistan: 40 cases
  • Islamabad: 75 cases, 1 death
  • Gilgit Baltistan: 10 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 116 cases, 1 death
