PESHAWAR: The candidates having already qualified the screening test and written examination for different posts in the revenue department on Sunday held a protest demonstration against the delay in interviews.

Holding banners and placards inscribed with their demands, the protesters, belonging to different districts, demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission to announce the schedule for interviews of the successful candidates for the posts of tehsildar and naib tehsildar at the earliest.

Talking to mediapersons on the occasion, the protesters’ representatives said the delay in interviews had caused them unrest. They also expressed reservations about the proposed amendments to the KP-PSC rules, fearing the government might declare the examinations null and void.

They said over 750 candidates had qualified the written and screening tests, and in case the exam was declared null and void they would be left with no option but to start protest demonstrations.

The candidates said they had prepared for about two years for written examination and screening test.

The candidates demanded of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to order the KP-PSC to announce interview schedule for the posts of tehsildar/naib tehsildar to save their future.
