SAHIWAL: A man killed his wife in the name of honour here on Friday night at village 93/9-L.

Reports said farmer Ghulam alias Gamoun had married her daughter Nasreen (40) off to his maternal nephew Nadeem a few months back.

Nadeem suspected his wife of having loose morals. On Friday night, he along with his friend came home, allegedly injured his wife with an axe and later strangled her. Nasreen was alone at home and her mother-in-law had gone to see her brother to another village.

Police have registered a murder case under section 302/34 of PPC on her father’s complaint.

ARRESTED: Harappa police on Friday night arrested 10 people, including four transpersons, for violation of different sections of Punjab Sound System (Regulations) Act -2015 at a marriage ceremony at Mir Dad Mafi village.

The arrested have been identified as Zeeshan alias Mano, Arshad alias Dolfin Lucky, Mohsin, Noor, Muhammad Mansha, Sajjad, Imran Ali, Muhammad Abbas, Amir and Abid Hussain.
