LOS ANGELES: The US State Department has approved the potential sale of F-15ID aircraft and related equipment to Indonesia in a deal valued at almost $14 billion, the Pentagon said on Thursday.

Boeing is the principal contractor, the Pentagon’s Defence Security Cooperation Agency said in a press release.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian defence ministry announced in Jakarta that it would buy 42 Rafale fighter aircraft from France. The announcement came after a meeting between the two defence ministers in Jakarta on Thursday.
