LAHORE: Tariq Mehmood took lead in the senior amateur category event on the first day of the fourth Chairman WAPDA Golf Championship here at Lahore Gymkhana on Thursday.

At the conclusion of the first 18 holes, Tariq of Lahore Garrison emerged as the leader with a gross score of 77.

Placed at gross 80 is Rashid Akbar (Garrison) followed by Asim Tiwana (Gymkhana), Col Asif Mehdi and Mohammad Shafi all of whom are at gross 82. Shahid Warraich, Imran Ahmed and Brig Mohammad Aslam are at gross 84.

In the ladies category, Iman Ali Shah fared well with an impressive score of gross 75.

Iman is followed by Parkha Ijaz (78), Ghazala Yasmin (79) and Suneya Osama (80).
