GUJRANWALA: An old woman who was chained and locked in a room by her son was released from captivity by Gakhar Mandi police on Sunday.

According to the details, Ijaz, in connivance with his wife, had locked his mother in a room and chained her there. City Police Officer retired Capt Syed Hamad Abid took action after a video of her went viral on social media. He formed a team, led by SP Saddar Abdul Wahab, which released the old woman from her son’s custody and arrested him.

During the interrogation, the suspect revealed that he wanted his mother to transfer her house in his name. When she refused to do so, he locked her in a room.

ARRESTED: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police arrested from the Sialkot airport a kidnap and rape case accused as he was about to flee the country.

City police officer Sayyed Hammad Abid said the accused had abducted and raped a young girl with the help of his accomplices. Since his name was placed on the Exit Control List, he was arrested by a CIA team from the airport.
