RAWALPINDI: An actress was gunned down by a man in her house in Dhoke Khabba on Sunday.

Police said Bismah, 24, a resident of Multan, was residing in a rented house with her mother.

The mother of the deceased lodged an FIR with the Waris Khan police stating that her daughter had gone to Taxila and performed at a wedding function two months ago.

During her visit, a man identified as Hamza tried to befriend her. She said Hamza started following her daughter and attempted to reach her house. She said at 6am on Sunday, Hamza made a call on Bismah’s mobile phone and asked her to open the door as he was standing outside. When she opened the door, Hamza, accompanied by his driver and cousin, forcibly entered the house and tried to take Bismah with him. When she offered resistance, Hamza shot and critically injured her and escaped, the victim’s mother added.

The injured woman was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
