KARACHI: CDC Group and Gul Ahmed Metro Group have formed a joint venture (JV) to scale renewable power production in Pakistan, a press release said on Thursday.
The JV aims to add up to 500 megawatts of primarily greenfield, low-cost renewable power to Pakistan’s grid over the medium term. It’ll boost clean power generation, provide electricity to over 850,000 consumers and support 17,000 jobs, the statement added.
The project will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 728,000 tonnes per year and improve living standards for end customers through the provision of affordable and reliable energy services.
