LAHORE: The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has completed and energised the 500kV Faisalabad west grid station.

“We are focusing on upgrade of our transmission network to meet the maximum demand of power during summers and Ramazan,” NTDC Managing Director Manzoor Ahmad said at the opening ceremony in Faisalabad on Tuesday.

The grid was completed with a cost of Rs9.379 billion.

“Two transformers of 750MVA and three transformers of 250MVA have been installed at the grid station. Allied transmission lines of the grid stations have also been completed and energized,” he added.

The projects will not only strengthen the transmission network of both the NTDC and Fesco but also address the issues of overloading, low voltage and forced load shedding in the Fesco region. The completion of the project will facilitate and help to meet the increasing demand for electricity of domestic, industrial, commercial and agri consumers.
