Five units sealed for emitting smoke

GUJRANWALA: The district administration sealed five industrial units on Monday for burning prohibited material as fuel and emitting poisonous smoke in the air.

Deputy Commissioner Danish Afzaal said that on the directions of Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal, crackdown was ongoing on the factories and kilns emitting smoke. Teams have been formed under the supervision of assistant commissioners and environment protection department officials.

A team under the supervision of AC Shabbir Hussain Butt sealed Mega Metal, Ayaz Metal, Ehtisham Metal Works, Khurram Steel and Irfan Silver Factory for burning prohibited material as fuel.

Cases would be registered if the owners are caught again.

PENSION CARDS: Pension cards should be issued from this month across Punjab.

This was said by All Punjab Government Pensioners Welfare Association President Sanaullah Khokhar here on Monday.

He praised the issue of cards and demanded the card be issued to give relief to pensioners.
