Acid attack on woman

VEHARI: A youth threw acid on a woman at Chak 65-WB in the Saddar police on Thursday.

Saima Akhtar, 24, was on the street when Nauman, 25, threw acid on her and fled. She received serious burn injuries.

Rescue 1122 after first aid shifted her to the DHQ hospital. According to Rescue 1122, about 50 percent of the body of the girl was affected.

SHO Rana Idrees told Dawn that Nauman, of the same locality, wanted to have an affair with the woman and on her refusal, he threw acid on her. He said they had registered a case against Nauman and were conducting raids to arrest him.
