PESHAWAR: Two terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in the Thal area of North Waziristan district on Tuesday.

The two terrorists — identified as Ghayoor and Bahauddin — were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

It added that the operation was carried out on reports about the presence of some terrorists in the area. The ISPR said security forces recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the possession of the terrorists.

It said the terrorists were involved in attacks on security forces, targeted killings and kidnapping for ransom.
