LAHORE: A man allegedly killed his wife for honour in Nisthar Colony area here on Tuesday.

A police official said Mohammad Naeem allegedly tortured and killed his wife with a dagger and threw her body in nearby fields.

He said the police and forensic experts reached the spot and recovered body of the women when a passerby alerted them.

During the course of investigation, he said, the police officials were told that the man suspected her morals and killed her in the name of honour.

The police official said the suspect manged his escape while a team was tasked with arresting him. The body has been shifted to the city morgue for autopsy after lodging a murder case.

In another incident, the police recovered body of an unknown man from the Ravi in the jurisdiction of Raiwind police here on Tuesday. The body was packed in a sack and thrown in the river. The police have registered a murder case against unknown suspects.

Transperson killed: A transgender person was killed while another was injured allegedly by two men over a monetary dispute at Dulam Bus Stop in the Nishtar Colony area on Tuesday.

Police claimed to have arrested one of the suspects and lodged a case.

Sharing details, a police official said two local residents, Bilal and Ghulam Hussain, scuffled with the transgender persons, identified as Nargis and Sana.

After a brief brawl, they injured both the transpersons with a sharp-edged weapon, killing one of them on the spot while injuring the other seriously.

The suspects fled the scene after committing the crime. A local made a call to emergency 15 and the Dolphin Police responded to it. The personnel chased the suspects and arrested one of them.

The suspect was later handed over to the Nisthar Colony police.
