SHANGLA: A woman and her son were killed when a Bisham-bound car collided with another car in Sasobay area of Bisham tehsil here on Monday.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson Rasool Khan said that a car coming from Ranyal to Bisham collided with another car going to Swat from Bisham. He added that the Bisham-bound car fell into a crop field and an elderly woman travelling in it died on the spot.

He said that the Rescue 1122 team retrieved the body and an injured driver from the car and shifted them to tehsil headquarters hospital, Bisham where the driver identified as Sher Shah succumbed to his injuries.

He said the car driver was son of the deceased woman, belonging to Ranyal area of Alpurui tehsil in Shangla.

SNOWFALL: A new spell of snowfall and rain started in Shangla on Monday morning.

The upper parts of the district including Shangla Top, Yakhtangay, Lilonai, Ajmeer, Olandar, Kandaw, Gamtal and Speen Ghar received snowfall. The plain areas of the district received rain.
