SAHIWAL: A minor girl was allegedly burnt alive in the house fire at village 115/7-R, Chichawatni, on Sunday, Rescue 1122 sources said.

The family of Aurangzeb left behind three minor children in the house and went out for work when the fire broke out.

Locals alerted Rescue 1122 when they saw the house on fire. Two other children ran out, while three-year-old Fatima was burnt alive.

All household items, including motorcycle, quilts, carts, clothes, and kitchen items, were gutted. The police are looking into the case.

FIRING: Four-year-old Hasan was shot dead while his father Akram Khan was critically injured when unidentified people opened fire at them near Sharainwala Morr, Arifwala Road, on Sunday.

The Kameer police are looking into the case. Rescue 1122 shifted Akram to the Sahiwal DHQ Teaching Hospital where his condition was critical.

FLOUR: The subsidized flour is not available at different bazaars of the city. Many citizens alleged that grocery stores are selling the subsidised flour at Rs75 per kilo instead of Rs55 despite getting flour from the district government at cheaper rates.

People demanded that the district government take action against the shopkeepers for selling subsidized flour at regular rates.

BANNED: A man has been declared ‘tout’ for launching ‘frivolous’ complaints against public servants.

The deputy commissioner office has banned the entry of Ashiq Rammay, of Chak 97/9-L, to public offices under Section 5, The Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance 1960.

Muhammad Yousaf, lumberdar of the village, launched a complaint against Ashiq Rammay. The order further reads Ashiq will be arrested if he violates the orders.
