RAWALPINDI: Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Saturday said the government and establishment are on the same page on all issues of national importance. Addressing a press conference he said: “On the other hand, opposition parties are divided on all the national issues.”

He said the opposition, despite being in majority, faced worst defeat in the Senate chairman elections, adding that it badly failed to bring no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Replying to a question about separate marches announced by the opposition parties, the minister said opposition could not harm the government. He said opposition only wanted to create anarchy in the country, which is not in the interest of the state.

To another question, Ghulam Sarwar Khan said work on all mega development projects was underway, which would be completed in the stipulated time.

He said the opposition created hype about the National Assembly session but it failed to show its strength. “This time too we won, the opposition proved wrong. Their 12 members were missing,” he said.

Talking about Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and PPP long march, the minister said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman gave a date of March 23 for the long march whereas PPP’s Bilawal Bhutto gave another date when they did not agree on one date how can they defeat the elected government.

He said that ISPR had to clear that there was no deal with anyone. He said that Nawaz Sharif would go to jail on his arrival in the country as he went abroad on fake medical certificates.

“The government has decided to approach the High Court to bring back Nawaz Sharif so that he can spend his sentence in jail,” he said.

He said Almighty Allah and establishment supported PTI led government. He said the opposition said that people faced problem to contest election on PTI ticket but I would like to say people refused to get ticket of the thieves’ parties and taken PTI ticket as an honor.

About Pervez Khattak and Prime Minister Imran Khan’s confrontation, he said that Mr Khattak spoke on public matter, it was not bad.

To a question, the minister claimed that people did not talk about inflation. “People talk more about unemployment. Inflation is not a problem,” he said.
