Sindh has reported 2,289 coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, the province's highest single-day tally since August 5 last year when 2,315 infections were recorded.

According to the daily situation report issued by the Chief Minister's Office, the province's infection tally has soared to 492,574 after the detection of the new cases.

Meanwhile, the report says, Covid-19 has claimed two more lives in the province, taking the death toll from the virus to 7,693.
