KHUZDAR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday arrested three suspected terrorists, one of them believed to involved in the killing of a tribal elder, Akram Sajidi, in a bomb blast.

A spokesman for the CTD said that they had conducted a raid in the Sasoli Road area of Khuzdar on a tip-off and arrested three suspected members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army, who were going to launch an attack at a sensitive place in the city.

He said that one of those arrested was identified as Zafar Ali who was involved in planting an IED on the vehicle of Mr Sajidi which went off while he was travelling in Hub two months ago.

The CTD also recovered 726 grams of explosives, six explosive rods, detonators and other weapons.

A case has been registered against the arrested suspects and an investigation is in progress.
