KARACHI: The Karachi police claimed to have solved the mysterious murder of a teenage girl in Gulistan-i-Jauhar and arrested her father.

According to SSP Altaf Hussain, 16-year-old Qamroosh was shot dead at her doorstep on Nov 17, 2021 within the remit of the Sharea Faisal police station.

He said the girl’s father, Zainul Abideen alias Doctor, was arrested for killing the young girl for allegedly having illicit relations with their neighbour.

The SSP said after the murder, the suspect himself lodged a murder case telling the police that some unidentified person knocked at the backdoor of their house and when her daughter opened it he shot her and fled.

The police confirmed that an empty bullet casing was collected from the crime scene which was fired from the 9MM pistol owned by Zainul Abideen.
