LAHORE: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Wednesday unveiled a commemorative coin and postage stamp on the completion of its 100 years.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar unveiled the coin and stamp in a ceremony at the campus on Wednesday.Sarwar said he was lucky to unveil the centennial commemorative coin and postage stamp on completion of 100 years of this prestigious institution.

He said the journey of the UET from the Mughalpura Technical College in 1921 to the university with many sub-campuses, affiliated colleges, research centers, thousands of alumni serving around the world, and more than 780 faculty members including 365 Ph.D holders demonstrated the pursuit of excellence of the administration, faculty members and students.UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar said that it was their utmost priority to provide maximum facilities to students. He said hard work of faculty had made it the best university in the world and Asia.

LESCO Chairman and former GCU VC Dr Khaliqur Rehman, former VC of Education University Dr Faizul Hassan, Managing Director NESPAK Dr Tahir Masood, dean of all faculties, chairman of all departments, registrar and staff members attended the ceremony.
