RAWALPINDI: The twin cities received light to moderate rain on Tuesday, turning the weather a bit chilly. Roads in low-lying areas were slushy as usual after the rain.

On the other hand, three inches of snow was recorded in Murree and the Met Office has predicted more rain and snowfall in upper parts of the country during the next 24 hours. Residents of both cities woke up to a rainy day with most staying at home.

Low gas pressure in several areas caused problems for people who used alternatives to keep themselves and their children warm.

The amount of rain recorded in several areas is as follows: 11mm at Zero Point, 10mm at Saidpur, 8mm at Golra, 7mm at Bokra, 5mm at New Islamabad Airport in Islamabad, 9mm at Shamsabad and 8mm at Chaklala in Rawalpindi.
